After last week’s disappointing defeat to St Johnstone and the midweek hammering by Celtic in the cup, it’s time to turn our attentions to an easily winnable game at home to the Jambos.

Hearts are a club currently in a bit of turmoil. They didn’t make it out of the Betfred Cup group stages, due to a loss against Peterhead and a draw at home to Dunfermline. They then sacked under-fire gaffer Ian Cathro, before being easily beaten by Celtic in the season opener.

The Edinburgh side have had a mixed transfer window, with several promising arrivals being balanced by disappointing departures. On the positive side, Hearts look to have managed a real coup by signing Northern Irish striker Kyle Lafferty, who has so far scored a decent amount of goals in the Betfred Cup. Unknown to many in Scottish football, Hearts have also secured a season long loan of Connor Randall from Liverpool, a promising young midfielder who has made eight appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s side so far. On the other hand, the departures of star players Sam Nicholson and Callum Patterson to Minnesota and Cardiff respectively will be a huge blow to the team and to their fans.

Hearts currently sit bottom of the table, and so we should be using this as motivation to make sure we get all three points today. We must put the disappointment of midweek behind us and go out there and show people what we know this team can do, but just hasn’t been able to put on display yet.

SCORE PREDICTION: Killie 2-1 Hearts
