KILMARNOCK 1-0 MOTHERWELL RUGBY PARK 16 DECEMBER 2017
It’s now two wins on the bounce at home as we go within two points of fifth place Hearts in the table. In a scrappy and close game, one goal was always going to win in and Scott Boyd came up with the goods, finding the net from a tight angle, just before half time. With a top six position within our grasp now, here’s four things to note from today’s game…
MULUMBU RUNS THE SHOW
Another masterful performance from the big man. He looked calm on the ball in what was a fiery and hectic game. Ran the show from the midfield and will be a huge influence to our younger midfielders in the weeks and months to come.
NOT OUR BEST PERFORMANCE BUT WE STILL GOT THE POINTS
Our second half performance today was probably one of the worst since Steve Clarke came in as manager, but the fact that we still came away with the three points is very encouraging to see. If we were playing this game under our last four managers, then the result would probably have been very different, which is a great credit to the work that Steve Clarke has done since he got here.
KILTIE IS BACK!
Our very on wonderkid Greg Kiltie was back on the pitch for the first time in many, many months and he looked like he had never been gone. Was very unlucky not to get on the scoresheet and will be a huge part of the team going forward into the rest of the season.
MACDONALD AT IT AGAIN!
With our strikers being in such good form in recent weeks, Jamie MacDonald probably hasn’t been given the credit that he deserves. However, today he was vital in us collecting the three points as he made a number of outstanding saves and kept us ahead. Today’s man of the match!
