The post-split fixtures may not have gone as we’d hoped so far, but i’m sure we would all rather be playing the big boys than fighting for our lives down at the bottom of the table. After three defeats out of three so far since the split, our chances get no easier as we travel to Celtic Park to face the champions elect. Taking anything away from the game would be a huge coup, but no matter what happens, Sunday is much more important.

Celtic go into this one off the back of winning the league against Rangers and defeating Hearts 3-1 away from home. They will be looking to end the season on a high by winning all their remaining games, so their foot will not have come off the gas. However, they may use these last few games as a chance to try out some new faces, so we might be up against a slightly weakened team.

For us, we no longer have anything to play for apart from pride, with fifth place now secure. Despite this, it would be nice to get what would be an unexpected result, especially for our fans who will travel up there. We were so close to getting a result against Rangers at the weekend, but it was just not to be as David Bates popped up in the 85th minute to hand Rangers all three points.

With a number of our key players missing tonight including Broadfoot and Jones, it will be a tough game, but there is always hope, especially based on our past performances against Celtic this season.
